Teen airlifted to hospital after being hit, run over while crossing upstate New York street

AUBURN, New York — A 15-year-old girl is fighting for her life after she was struck by one car and run over by another in upstate New York.

It happened at about 9:15 p.m. Monday. Officials say the girl was trying to cross an Auburn street when she was hit. She was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Sgt. Tim Spingler tells the Post-Standard of Syracuse that the crash seems to be weather-related. It was raining when the teen was hit.

Auburn police are investigating.
