Authorities investigating death of man who was thrown from motorcycle in Davenport


DAVENPORT, Iowa — Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was thrown from his motorcycle after hitting a curb in Davenport.

The Quad-City Times reports (http://bit.ly/1jKhnTP ) that police, fire and emergency medical responders were called to the crash around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Police say the man was driving south when his motorcycle struck the curb and he lost control. The man was thrown from the motorcycle, which crashed and caught fire.

Authorities say the man died from his injuries at a Davenport hospital. His name has not yet been released, pending notification of family. Police are investigating.
