CHARLESTON, West Virginia — West Virginia Democrats will host former defense secretary and CIA chief Leon Panetta at their annual dinner.
Panetta will be the keynote speaker at Saturday night's Jefferson/Jackson Dinner. Panetta served as defense secretary from 2011 to 2013 and CIA director from 2009 to 2011.
The state party says the event also will feature a salute to coal miners by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin. Other Democratic leaders also will speak.
The event is set for 7 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center.
