Police say man has life-threatening injuries after shooting in west Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Police say they are investigating the shooting of a man in west Birmingham.

Multiple media outlets report that a 30-year-old man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after being shot early Friday. The man's name was not released.

Birmingham Lt. Paul Irwin tells WBRC-TV (http://bit.ly/1W5ovZG ) that two people were carjacked shortly before that outside a nearby apartment complex. Two men were later arrested in connection with the carjacking.
