CORONA, California — Firefighters have halted the spread of a brushfire east of Los Angeles and lifted an evacuation order for 75 nearby homes.

Authorities say the 30-acre blaze in Corona is 25 percent contained and no longer threatens the homes.

It broke out shortly after 3 p.m. in a river bottom east of Corona Municipal Airport.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1f5pB67 ) says at one point, flames came within 200 yards of some homes.

No damage or injuries are reported.

Corona is about 50 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
