1 man killed, 1 critically injured in separate shootings in north Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities say gunfire killed one man and critically injured another in the early morning hours in north Philadelphia.

Police say officers responded to a report of a person with a gun shortly after 4:30 a.m. Sunday and found a 35-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was next to his car, which had the keys in the ignition and the driver's door open. The man was pronounced dead minutes later at Temple Hospital.

Earlier, at about 3 a.m. Sunday, a man reported seeing another man walking in the middle of Lindley Avenue clutching his chest. He said he had been shot, so the witness drove him to Einstein Hospital, where the 43-year-old victim was reported in critical condition with two gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been reported in either case.
