Baffert-trained Gimme Da Lute romps to 12 1/4-length win in Real Good Deal at Del Mar

DEL MAR, California — Bob Baffert-trained Gimme Da Lute romped to a 12 1/4-length victory Sunday in the $200,000 Real Good Deal Stakes for 3-year-olds at Del Mar.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Gimme Da Lute ran seven furlongs in 1:22.33 and paid $2.80, $2.40 and $2.10 for his fifth victory in eight starts. He earned $110,000 to increase his total to $567,560.

The stablemate of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, Gimme Da Lute was coming off victories in the Affirmed at Santa Anita and the Los Alamitos Derby. Baffert was in New Jersey on Sunday for American Pharoah's victory in the Haskell Invitational.

Rocko's Wheel returned $4.80 and $2.80, and Grazen Sky returned $2.20 to show.
