DETROIT — Detroit Red Wings players have visited children at a Saginaw hospital as they tour the state on the way to their training camp in Traverse City.

The team says seven stops featuring 24 players were scheduled for the sixth annual MI Wings Community Tour on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Wednesday, team members stopped at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw, visiting hospitalized children.

Other stops Wednesday stops are the Michigan National Guard in Lansing, Kids' Food Basket in Grand Rapids and a rally at Franklin elementary school in Cadillac.

Tuesday's stops included a Detroit Fire Department engine house, a Motor City Blight Busters worksite and C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor.

The tour is presented by Novi-based ITC Holdings Corp.
