RACINE, Wisconsin — A Racine County Jail inmate is charged with attacking a corrections officer.

Authorities say the assault happened New Year's Day at the jail. A criminal complaint says inmate Isaha Walker refused Officer Tommy Sharrett's command to return to a dayroom and tried grabbing Sharrett's stun gun.

The complaint says Sharrett struck Walker and the inmate charged him. Both fell to the floor and Walker began punching Sharrett. The officer, along with another, used their stun guns on Walker and he was handcuffed. Sharrett suffered significant injuries to his shoulder and arm was taken to the hospital.

Walker was in jail on charges of burglary, disorderly conduct and bail jumping. He has been charged with felony battery and two misdemeanors as a result of the attack. Court records do not list an attorney for Walker.
