CHEYENNE, Wyoming — The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash near Laramie and another near Hartville.

Sgt. David Wagener says 52-year-old Raymond Dieckmann, of Lusk, was riding his motorcycle on Wyoming 270 just north of Hartville on Friday afternoon when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the highway. Dieckmann, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

Investigators say alcohol and inattentive driving might have played a role in the crash.

Also Friday, 18-year-old Danny Pacheco was killed when his pickup went off Interstate 80 east of Laramie, hit a road sign and rolled. Pacheco, of Laramie, was not wearing a seat belt, and investigators say he might have been distracted when he crashed.
