ST. JOHNSBURY, Vermont — A Vermont woman has been accused of taking a fiddle and a mandolin from her grandmother.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 35-year-old Kristy Parchment of St. Johnsbury after she did not show up for an arraignment on charges stolen property charges. It's not known if she has a lawyer.

The Caledonian Record reports (http://bit.ly/1w4s9bH) 72-year-old Linda Pierce of Hardwick reported the instruments missing in June. She told police her granddaughter, Parchment, had stayed with her for a month and that she let her stay in her bedroom, where her fiddle and mandolin were stored under a bed.

Police later found instruments matching the description at an antiques shop in Lyndonville.

Police made contact with Parchment, who said she could have sold them in the past.
