RALEIGH, North Carolina — The North Carolina State Fair is over for another year.
The 11-day run that ended Sunday night included a good stretch of weather.
Final attendance figures are released Monday show that nearly 930,000 people attended the fair. It's the fifth straight year attendance has topped 900,000.
The record is just over 1 million visitors in 2010.
State Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler told local media outlets he's been pleased with this year's fair.
Last year, five people were hurt after problems with a ride that apparently had been tampered with by fair employees. The workers face felony assault charges and a federal lawsuit is pending.
