ANAHEIM, California — Transit officials say a freight train derailment in Orange County is causing disruptions on Metrolink commuter lines.
The Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/1O8lClL ) at least one wheel on a BNSF Railway train came off the track in Anaheim Tuesday evening.
Jeff Lustgarten, a spokesman for Metrolink, says several commuter trains on the Inland Empire and 91 lines in both directions are disrupted early Wednesday.
Lustgarten says the agency is making arrangements for alternate transportation using OCTA buses from Orange County or Riverside Transit Agency buses for the Inland Empire line.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation. The freight train originated in Los Angeles and was heading for Houston.
No injuries are reported.
