COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police say a teenage boy has died after being shot in central Ohio.

Sixteen-year-old Zyshonne Dupri Jenkins was taken to a Columbus hospital after a shooting at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on the east side of Columbus. Police say a witness saw Jenkins and another person exchange gunfire in an intersection.

Media reports say Jenkins was shot in the midsection and died at the hospital Wednesday morning.

As a precaution, four Columbus high schools in the area were locked down Wednesday due to concerns about possible gang violence resulting from the slaying.
