PHILIPSBURG, Pennsylvania — State police say a woman has died after her car crossed the center line and truck a large truck head-on on a central Pennsylvania highway.

Troopers from the Philipsburg barracks say 37-year-old Melinda Patterson, of Philipsburg, was killed in the crash about 3:10 a.m. Saturday.

They say she was driving on Tyrone Pike when she drove into the path of a Mack truck in Rush Township. That's about 120 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Police were trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The truck's driver was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center with what police are calling moderate injuries.

Patterson died at the scene.
