WILLIAMSON, West Virginia — Williamson Memorial Hospital has decided to stop delivering babies.
Effective April 1, the hospital will no longer provide labor and delivery services.
Hospital CEO Cindy Segar-Miller's office tells The Williamson Daily News (http://bit.ly/1FWMU9G) that the facility is reallocating its resources to services used by the community.
Sega-Miller's office says the hospital also won't seek approval to reinstitute its cardiac catheterization lab, and is ending a contract with one of two orthopedic specialists.
The office says the hospital's priority is to ensure that patient care is appropriate for the level of service that can be supported and sustained.
