Body found in Indianapolis retention bond identified as 27-year-old missing Monticello man


INDIANAPOLIS — A body found in a retention pond on the north side of Indianapolis has been identified as a missing 27-year-old Monticello man.

The body was found floating in the water shortly after 5 p.m. Friday by a boater. Police say they have identified the man as Nicholas Spitzer. His family reported him missing to the Monticello Police Department on Aug. 18.

Police say the investigation is on-going. The cause and manner of his death have not been determined.
