New Hampshire getting $23M in low-income heating assistance

CONCORD, New Hampshire — New Hampshire is getting more than $23 million in assistance under the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

Earlier this month, U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte joined a bipartisan group of colleagues to call on the Department of Health and Human Services to release LIHEAP funds as quickly and at as high a level as possible to aid low-income families and seniors as winter approaches.

The senators announced the release of an additional $2.27 million in LIHEAP funding for New Hampshire earlier this year from the initial fiscal year 2015 release.
