TICONDEROGA, New York — Police say a 25-year-old woman and her four daughters have been hospitalized after their car hit a utility pole along a road in the southeastern Adirondacks.
Police in the Essex County town of Ticonderoga say Sarah McLaughlin of Ticonderoga was driving on Route 9N around 7:30 a.m. Monday when her car went out of control on a curve and hit a pole.
Officers say McLaughlin and her 7-year-old daughter suffered head injuries. They were taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where McLaughlin is listed in critical condition Tuesday morning. The 7-year-old's condition isn't available.
The daughters riding in the backseat — two 3-year-olds and a 6-year-old — were taken to Moses-Ludington in Ticonderoga, where they were treated for injuries. Information on their conditions isn't available.
