POTTSVILLE, Pennsylvania — Authorities say a woman died in a fire in an eastern Pennsylvania home.

Fire crews in Schuylkill County were called to the New Castle Township home at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

They reported the home engulfed in flames and said the woman's body was later found in the kitchen of the home.

Deputy Coroner Joseph Pothering said 61-year-old Mildred Reedy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local authorities and a state fire marshal are trying to find out what caused the blaze, which is believed to have started in the front room of the home.
