PUEBLO, Colorado — Air service at Pueblo Memorial Airport is resuming even as the air terminal is still being remodeled.
The work isn't expected to be completed until mid-December.
The Pueblo City Council approved an emergency ordinance last Monday to provide $80,000 in money to finish the work. It's been an off-and-on process for more than a year.
Pueblo has been struggling to keep air service for years. That's one of the reasons the terminal was torn up for expansion.
Air carriers have complained that the terminal gate area wasn't large enough, it didn't have restrooms in the waiting areas for flights and the baggage-claim area needed expansion.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports (http://tinyurl.com/nd45jxp) that Great Lakes Airlines was to begin air service on Sunday.
The airline will operate single flights Sunday through Friday.
