Gas prices fall slightly to average $2.20 per gallon in Rhode Island


PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Gas prices in Rhode Island have fallen to an average $2.20 per gallon.

AAA Northeast says in its survey released Monday that prices for regular gasoline have dropped a penny since last week.

The average price in Rhode Island is 9 cents per gallon less than the national average of $2.29.

A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was $3.39 per gallon. That's $1.19 more, or 54 percent higher.
