Police say a Destrehan High School teacher confessed to investigators about having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student

KENNER, Louisiana — Police say a Destrehan High School teacher confessed to investigators last week about having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student, according to a police affidavit obtained Monday by The New Orleans Advocate.

Police claim Kimberly Naquin, 26, had her first sexual encounter with the girl at the teacher's Kenner apartment in October 2014. Police allege Naquin and the girl had several more sexual encounters in the teacher's apartment and classroom before the relationship ended.

Naquin was booked in St. Charles Parish on charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and prohibited sexual conduct between a student and educator.

The New Orleans Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1SZwfeW ) that Naquin is at least the fourth Destrehan High teacher since 2008 to be accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with a student.

A day before Naquin's alleged confession last Thursday, the student provided police with an accurate description of the inside of the teacher's apartment and detailed "cut marks" on Naquin's body, "which one would only know if they had seen her in a state of complete undress," the police affidavit said.

Naquin, whose father is St. Charles Parish School Board president Dennis Naquin, remained jailed in Jefferson Parish on Monday.

St. Charles Parish schools spokeswoman Stevie Crovetto said Naquin has been suspended without pay.
