Pacos Ferreira beats Estoril 2-0 to rise to 6th in Portugal


LISBON, Portugal — Pacos Ferreira moved to sixth place in the Portuguese league on Sunday with a 2-0 home defeat of Estoril.

Pacos got goals in each half by Diogo Jota and Bruno Moreira.

Moreirense also won 1-0 at Rio Ave after Iuri Medeiros scored the winner in the 48th minute, helping the team move three points above the relegation zone.

Relegation-threatened Academica was held 1-1 at home by Arouca. Maurides canceled out the hosts' opener by Goncalo Paciencia.

League leader Sporting Lisbon hosts Belenenses on Monday, while fourth-place Benfica visits third-place Braga.
