GREENWOOD, South Carolina — Authorities have charged a man and the mother of a 3-year-old boy with homicide by child abuse in the child's death.
Police told media outlets that 24-year-old Shaniqua Watson's son was brought to a Greenwood hospital on April 2.
Authorities say she told medical workers the boy suffered a seizure, but doctors found two skull fractures.
The child died from his injuries four days later, and the Greenwood County Coroner's Office ruled the death was caused by non-accidental head injuries.
Also charged with homicide by child abuse is 33-year-old Brandon Holmes. It wasn't known if either suspect had attorneys, and police didn't say how Watson and Holmes were related.
