Traverse City police hope cherry fest brings fresh tips in unsolved 2013 death of bicyclist

TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan — Two years later, police in Traverse City say they still have no suspects in the death of a 29-year-old woman who was riding a bicycle.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle (http://bit.ly/1IwQV9l ) says police hope the National Cherry Festival might bring in tips from visitors who might remember something. Kelly Ann Boyce was killed on July 5, 2013.

She was riding a bike when she was struck by a dark SUV or pickup truck. She was dragged for more than a block.

Detective Matt Richmond says more than 700 tips have failed to lead investigators to a suspect. Tips are down to just 10 this year.

Boyce's sister, Nicole Nostrandt, plans to hold a vigil Sunday night at a beach in Frankfort.
