LINCOLN, Nebraska — Lane Napier ran for 119 yards and three touchdowns and Aquinas Catholic rushed for 308 of its 322 yards while defeating turnover-plagued Hartington Cedar Catholic 40-6 in the Class C2 championship game Tuesday.

Aquinas (12-1) won the state title for the third time in four years.

The Monarchs from David City got out to a 40-0 lead on Napier's TD runs of 1, 6 and 19 yards and Trev Semrad's 6-yard run and 65-yard interception return.

Ryan Becker ran for 91 yards to lead Cedar Catholic (10-3). Tanner Keiser threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Tristan Steffen in the final minute for Cedar Catholic's only score.

The Trojans were intercepted four times, three by Semrad, and they lost four fumbles.

Cedar Catholic was in a state final for the third time but is still looking for its first championship.
