GRANTS PASS, Oregon — Prosecutors in Josephine County say a man accused in a stabbing death at a Grants Pass bar has pleaded guilty to a murder charge and faces a minimum sentence of 25 years.

Deputy District Attorney Matt Corey says a day and a half of negotiations led to the plea Thursday from 40-year-old Britt Bones of Selma. Sentencing is set Jan. 12.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier ( reports that he was accused of stabbing 25-year-old Mike McCoy in the head about 11:30 p.m. on March 22 at the Red Rock Lounge.

Authorities have released few details about what happened.

The bar was the site of a number of fights and disturbances, and the owners surrendered the liquor license in April.
