CHEYENNE, Wyoming — A Cheyenne fourth-grader got just the birthday present she asked for — the return of her big brother from overseas.
Kambrie White's 22-year-old brother Garrett, a Wyoming Army National Guard soldier, coincidentally returned Thursday — her birthday — from Bahrain with members of the 133rd Engineer Company. Her parents didn't tell her he was arriving that day and, with help from teachers, surprised her and her older twin sisters at Buffalo Ridge Elementary School.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle (http://bit.ly/1eVUpV9) reports that Garrett was introduced at the school as a special reader as part of its "love a book" Valentine's celebration. The three sisters appeared stunned at first and then swarmed their brother.
Mother Deborah White says she had never seen Kambrie speechless before.
