CORONA, California — A wildfire that burned through thick vegetation in the river basin behind Southern California's Prado Dam is 85 percent contained.
The Riverside County Fire Department said Wednesday that the area burned was increased slightly to 1,049 acres due to better mapping, but full containment is still expected on Friday. Firefighters will remain on the scene until then.
The blaze erupted Saturday evening and briefly posed a threat to about 300 nearby homes.
