PORTLAND, Maine — A powerful storm that has been soaking Maine for more than 48 hours has lived up to expectations.
The National Weather Service says the storm total topped 5 inches in Camden on Maine's Midcoast and in Robbinston in Washington County. Portland recorded 4.2 inches and Gorham 4.5 inches.
Forecasters say sunny skies are on tap for the weekend.
But first, scattered showers will continue on Friday. The storm lashed the state with wind-driven rain and winds gusting upward of 40 mph on Wednesday and Thursday.
