Coast Guard rescues man, woman from sailboat in Neuse River


HOBUCKEN, North Carolina — The Coast Guard has rescued two people from the Neuse River.

The Coast Guard said in a statement that they were called shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday by a man and woman on a 23-foot sailboat.

The couple said they were caught in bad weather.

A boat from Coast Guard Station Hobucken arrived and took the man and woman aboard. They were taken to a marina in Oriental.

Their names were not released.
