WILLISTON, North Dakota — A Milwaukee woman accused of being part of a prostitution ring in the western North Dakota oil patch has pleaded not guilty.

Authorities allege 38-year-old Rasheda Ross was involved in a commercial sex operation that advertised online and did business out of a Williston hotel.

The Williston Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1IQw2Cn ) that Ross on Thursday pleaded not guilty to a felony human trafficking charge that carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison.

Ross is scheduled to stand trial the week of Sept. 21 on that charge and on a criminal conspiracy charge for allegedly being involved with another woman in an extortion attempt. That charge carries the same maximum punishment.
