WHEELING, West Virginia — The government says a Pennsylvania teacher has been charged with traveling to West Virginia with the intent to have sex with a minor.

The U.S. attorney's office in Wheeling announced that 44-year-old Daniel S. McGarvey was indicted on Tuesday. Prosecutors say McGarvey traveled to Bridgeport last October to meet what he believed was a 15-year-old girl. He allegedly arranged the meeting through text messages.

It was not clear if McGarvey has an attorney.
