CASPER, Wyoming — Authorities say a 40-year-old man shot to death by Casper police was on antidepressants and had threatened to kill himself and the officers.

Randall Williams died about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, a day after officers responded to a domestic disturbance at his east Casper home.

A search warrant filed by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation says officers responding to a 911 call Tuesday night were met at the door by Williams with a gun in his hand.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports ( ) that after several minutes Williams obtained a second gun and pointed both at his head. Officers repeatedly told Williams to drop the guns, but they say Williams made a statement to his wife about shooting the officers and pointed one gun toward them.

Williams was shot twice.
