GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — Crews plan to close parts of the popular path through Glenwood Canyon next week to begin permanent repairs on areas that were heavily damaged by flooding caused by spring runoff.

Tracy Trulove, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation, says the path will be closed from the east side of Grizzly Creek to the west side of the Hanging Lake rest area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.

Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to access the path from Glenwood Springs to Grizzly Creek and from the east entrance of the canyon at Bair Ranch to the Hanging Lake rest area.
