BARNEGAT, New Jersey — Officials say more sonic booms along the New Jersey coastline are also from military flight tests and training.

Reports of sonic booms shaking houses were made in Egg Harbor Township, Brigantine and Barnegat around 1:45 p.m. Monday afternoon.

A spokeswoman with the Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland tells WNBC-TV it had flights over the Atlantic Ocean there around that time. She says other military aircraft were in the area as well.

A Navy spokeswoman has said an F-35C and F-18 from the station were conducting supersonic testing off the coast in the same test track last Thursday. Residents reported hearing loud booms as far away as Connecticut.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
