CONCORD, New Hampshire — A storm has left some heavy amounts of snow in northern New Hampshire and rain in southern parts of the state, but not the high number of power outages that utilities prepared for.

Weather observers told the National Weather Service that Randolph in Coos County received nearly 11 inches of snow by Tuesday night. Gorham got 8 inches. In Grafton County, Orford got 5.7 inches of snow and Waterville Valley got 4 inches.

Over an inch of rain was reported in Laconia.

Some schools in western and northern parts of the state were delayed or closed because of the snow.

At peak, there were about 7,000 customers without power, most in Moultonborough. Most customers had their power back on by Wednesday afternoon.
