BOSTON — Authorities say they have made arrests in a pair of slayings in Boston that occurred more than a year ago.

Boston police and the Suffolk district attorney office say 27-year-old Anthony Howard has been charged with fatally shooting 23-year-old Brianna Bigby in June 2013.

Bigby was shot as she sat in a car in Roxbury with a man Bigby's family has identified as her boyfriend, who they say was the intended target of the shooter.

Authorities also announced they had arrested 29-year-old Luis Diaz for the unrelated slaying of 42-year-old Orlando Guerrero in December 2012. Authorities say Diaz and another man shot the victim during a robbery in the South End.

Howard was already in custody on unrelated firearms charges.
