SAN DIEGO — The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right fielder Yasiel Puig and reliever Joel Peralta on the 15-day disabled list Sunday.
Puig strained his left hamstring running out a ground ball in Friday night's victory against San Diego.
Peralta has been dealing with what he described as a "dead arm."
The Dodgers selected the contract of right-hander Scott Baker from Triple-A Oklahoma City and recalled right-hander Carlos Frias. Baker started Sunday in the series finale against the Padres.
Puig was disappointed with the move, manager Don Mattingly said.
"He thinks he's going to be ready to play in four to five days. I think Yasiel plays at one speed. That's where it's tough for him to say hey, 'You've got to back off.' That's where you've got to protect him from himself," Mattingly said.
To make room for Baker on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers moved reliever Brandon League to the 60-day DL.
