ASHBURN, Virginia — The Washington Redskins have put center Kory Lichtensteiger on injured reserve with a designation to return and replaced him on the roster by signing free agent center Brian de la Puente.
The team announced the moves Tuesday.
Lichtensteiger has been dealing with a neck injury and missed Washington's past three games.
De la Puente has started 50 games in the NFL over the past four seasons with the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears.
He went on injured reserve a year ago while with the Bears, then became a free agent in the offseason.
The Redskins (3-5) host the Saints (4-5) on Sunday.
