VELMA, Oklahoma — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a woman and young two children were killed in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer rig in southwestern Oklahoma.

Troopers told reporters that the three were northbound on a county road Tuesday afternoon when the vehicle they were in crashed into the semi and was pinned beneath the truck, then burst into flames.

Their names were not immediately released.

Troopers say the truck driver was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital where he was treated and later released.
