LEWES, Delaware — Authorities in Delaware say one person is dead after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a car in Lewes.

The Delaware State Police says it happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday on eastbound on Lewes-Georgetown Highway just east of Nassau Commons Boulevard. Authorities say the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu hit 21-year-old Isidro Bautista-Rosales, of Pittsville, Maryland. Authorities say Bautista-Rosales had just exited his vehicle that was parked on the westbound shoulder and for undetermined reasons began walking across the roadway.

Bautista-Rosales was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Malibu was uninjured in the crash. Authorities say alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash and no charges have been filed.
