GRAY, Maine — Snow-weary Maine residents who've barely finished digging out from this week's blizzard can expect another heavy storm.
A meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Gray says snow will likely begin in the early morning hours Friday and continue all day throughout the state. The snow is expected to taper off Saturday morning, leaving more than 6 inches of snow in most of the state. Portland could receive 8 to 10 inches of snow, while the Bangor and Millinocket areas could see 14 to 18 inches. Southern Maine near the New Hampshire border could receive 6 to 8 inches of snow.
The latest round of snow comes just after a Tuesday and Wednesday blizzard that dumped two feet of snow on parts of Maine. More snow is expected next week.
