Enid police say man dies of multiple gunshot wounds, suspect later confesses, is arrested


ENID, Oklahoma — Police in Enid say a man has died after being found in a city street with multiple gunshot wounds and that a suspect is in custody.

Lt. Warren Wilson says officers responding to several calls of a shooting in progress Wednesday night found 21-year-old Michael Ryan Hayes in the street. Hayes died later at an Enid hospital.

Wilson says the suspect later went to the Enid Police Department and confessed to the shooting and was arrested for first-degree murder.

Details about the shooting were not immediately released.
