NC Highway Patrol says 10 motorists killed across state during July 4 holiday period

RALEIGH, North Carolina — The N.C. Highway Patrol says at least 10 people were killed on the state's roads during the July 4 holiday weekend.

The holiday period began at 6 p.m. last Friday and ended at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Two of the deaths occurred in Rockingham County north of Reidsville.

Last year, the patrol reported seven people were killed in accidents during the July 4th holiday period.
