CLINTON, Tennessee — Authorities say the body of a missing 5-year-old Anderson County boy has been recovered from a pond near his home.

Multiple media outlets report that the body of Odin Elwood Fitton was found on Wednesday night.

Anderson County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Marc Lucas says Fitton died of an apparent drowning.

Fitton had been reported missing earlier Wednesday afternoon and nearly 100 personnel were involved in the search.

Lucas says search and rescue dogs led authorities to the pond, which is between 200 and 300 yards from the boy's home.
