PICKENS, South Carolina — Authorities say two people have been found dead after separate house fires in the Upstate.

Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley tells local media outlets that 81-year-old Kathleen Bagwell was pronounced dead after her body was found in the back of a house Tuesday. Crews responded to a fire at Bagwell's home at around 1:40 p.m.

On Wednesday, officials in Union County say 65-year-old Alfonzo Boyd was found dead in a fire at his Whitmire home. Local outlets report an autopsy was scheduled Thursday.

Authorities have not said what they think caused either fire.
