FLOWERY BRANCH, Georgia — Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn has ruled out left tackle Jake Matthews and linebacker Brooks Reed for this week's preseason finale.

Matthews, the No. 6 overall draft choice last year, is sidelined with an injured back.

Reed, Atlanta's top free agent signee with $9 million guaranteed, is nursing a groin injury and will get a second medical opinion. Quinn says it's too early to say if surgery is a possibility.

Receiver Roddy White, who's recovering from elbow surgery last month, also won't play Thursday when the Falcons (1-2 preseason) host Baltimore (1-2).

Quinn wasn't ready to project whether cornerback Desmond Trufant (shouder), running back Devonta Freeman (hamstring and receiver/special teams ace Devin Hester (toe) will play against the Ravens.
