BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, New Jersey — A tractor-trailer driver was injured when his vehicle overturned on an interstate highway in New Jersey, spilling dozens of cases of apple juice across the roadway.
But it's not yet known what caused the crash, which occurred around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of I-295 in Burlington Township.
Authorities say the truck was carrying about 80,000 pounds of juice, and most of the cargo spilled out. The truck and the boxes blocked two of the three lanes, causing lengthy traffic backups that lasted several hours.
The driver's name was not released, and further details on his injuries were not disclosed.
